Wine

Port Phillip Estate Red Hill Chardonnay draws from the winery's Chardonnay block at Red Hill on the Mornington Peninsula.

Nestled on a hill facing east, the vines are fully exposed to the morning sunshine, but protected from the afternoon summer sun. This allows the fruit to ripen in a cooler environment and maintain its hallmark acidity.

The grapes are whole bunch pressed directly into French oak barrels to ferment with ambient yeasts. The wine ages for 12 months on lees without stirring. At bottling, there is no fining and only minimal filtration.

Pale straw, Port Phillip Estate Red Hill Chardonnay has intense citrus and stone fruit flavours, taut acidity and a chalky finish. Cellaring potential is five years.
